Prevalence of Gambling Disorders in a Primary Care Setting
This survey found that more than 6% of these patients met
the criteria for gambling disorders and that there is
significant comorbidity with tobacco use and alcohol abuse.

Based on the current literature there appears to be a greater prevalence of mood disorders including dysthymia, major depressive disorders, cyclothymia and bipolar disorders amongst pathological gamblers.
