The big news in mental health this week is the release of the Surgeon General's Report on
Mental Health. The report acknowledges that "(m)ental disorders are not character
flaws but are legitimate illnesses that respond to specific treatments, just as other
health conditions respond to medical interventions." The document is a good start,
but there is much to be done to turn the report into reality, including widespread patient
education and true parity for mental health services. Below you will find information on
