Surgeon General David Satcher, MD, PhD, recently released a National Action Agenda for Children's Mental Health. According to this report, 1 in 10 children and adolescents in the U.S. suffer from mental illness severe enough to cause some level of impairment. Yet, it is estimated that fewer than half of these children receives needed treatment. Today's FPN focuses on ADHD, the most commonly diagnosed behavioral disorder of childhood.
