General Comments:
Joanna Poppink, MFT, psychotherapist in private practice, specializing in eating disorder recovery.
When pain and fear from living with an eating disorder becomes more powerful than the fear of change, a person suffering from anorexia or bulimia or binge eating calls for her first appointment.
When a person with an eating disorder gains some recovery ground after a residential treatment experience and wants to sustain her work and grow beyond her limits, she calls for an appointment.
My clients are relieved to find a place where they can be themselves and share their truth.
They often find a path to strength, confidence and healing through various methods we use together to build internal presence and stability.
The kinds of difficulties a client may face in the beginning of our work include: worry and fear over her recurrent eating disorder behavior, general anxiety, troubled relationships, bad dreams, anger or frustration
in her career, frustrating issues with parents,
increasing despair from loneliness coupled with
a fear of being known by others.
A new
client often has been yearning for
protection and rescue that never seem to materialize. She senses that there is more to life than she knows from personal experience, but can’t find her way.
We work together to find her unique way to a better life.
