One of the challenges facing today's practitioner is understanding and implementing the HIPAA regulations. If you have not yet complied with the Privacy Rule, you should do so as soon as possible. The
next HIPAA deadline is October 16 when practitioners will be required to use standard formatting for such electronic transactions as billing, inquiries about plan eligibility and coverage, claim status, referrals, and the like.
