Dear Colleagues,
November 22 - 28 is National Family Caregivers' Week. Today's newsletter is primarily
focused on caregivers, who are sometimes called the "hidden victims" of
age-related health problems. Caregivers, often in need of counseling or services
themselves, are eager to find information about the problems which affect them and their
loved ones. Increasingly, they are turning to the Internet for information and support. I
hope these sites will help in that effort.
Please feel free to forward this information to professional colleagues, who can sign-up for a free subscription to Friday's Progress Notes at

Forgetfulness: It's Not Always What You Think
A lot of people experience memory lapses. Some memory problems are serious, and others are not. People who have serious changes in their memory, personality, and behavior may suffer from a form of brain disease called dementia. Dementia seriously affects a person's ability to carry out daily activities. Alzheimer's disease is one of many types of dementia.
