I offer a background of years of psychiatric clinical experience, including clinical research and primary patient care in academic and community-based hospitals, and in private office and community clinic settings. A large percentage of my clinical time is spent in assessing patients, making pharmacologic recommendations in the management of the major psychiatric disorders, and providing follow-up medication management. Despite the fact that the managed care organizations have denied many patients access to the physician for their psychotherapy, I am available to provide same. Possible areas of therapeutic focus include: lifestyle adjustment to major psychiatric illness; the interface of major medical illness and psychiatric response; gender identity disorders and sexual orientation issues. Although working as a solo practitioner, I manage the medications of many patients who are in therapy with a non-physician psychotherapist and am comfortable doing so; I am also comfortable working along with my non-psychiatric physician colleagues in the diagnosis and management of their patients' psychiatric conditions. Patient hours are available 5 days a week, Monday thru Friday; on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, patients can be seen as late as 7:00 PM. When the office is not open for business, Dr. Forrester can be reached via cellular phone for emergencies; information for accessing him is available on his outgoing message on voice mail, at 410-453-0901. When he is out of town and off cellular phone, another designated psychiatrist will handle his patients' calls.
